Gov. wants more session days to reach compromise on healthcare & energy

Gov. Rendell said yesterday that both parties are coming closer to a compromise on healthcare policy, which will result in insurance for hundreds and thousands of currently uncovered Pennsylvanians. More session days are needed to come to a final deal, he says.

The House Insurance Committee has scheduled 2 hearings Monday and Tuesday in Erie. Monday’s hearing is on the proposed Blues’ Merger and Tuesday’s hearing focuses on the House Democrat’s PA ABC plan, to cover the uninsured.

If a deal is not hashed out during leader and Gov. negotiations, the House is set to vote on over 135+ amendments on the Floor this week.
