Commonwealth Medical College cut out of state budget

The brand-new medical school won’t be receiving the $5 million it thought it would.

“There is no better way to invest in economic development than invest in the medical college,” Dr. D’Alessandri said.

He added that the medical school also helps the state by training doctors who will hopefully stay within the commonwealth, as well as charging in-state residents less for tuition than out-of-state students.
