This walk/run – at Harrisburg’s City Island on Sunday, beginning at noon – raises awareness for lupus.
While lupus patients are living longer, their lives are marred by chronic fatique and an assortment of wide-ranging and debilitating health issues that are imperfectly managed by drugs borrowed from cancer, malaria, and organ transplant patients.
The last FDA-approved drug for lupus came out in 1959, back when Dwight D. Eisenhower was president and Alaska was a new state. The Lupus Foundation of PA would be grateful for your help in bringing attention to a widespread (An estimated 66,000 Pennsylvanians and more than 1.5 Americans have lupus) disease with a low profile.
