At the end of the Senate session last week PHC4 – a healthcare agency that compiles data on facilities across the state – was not reauthorized. This means that the agency and it’s 35 employees will be out of work at the end of November, reported WGAL-TV.
Sen. Pat Vance (R-Cumberland) says she will be introducing a bill next session to reauthorize PHC4. Advocates of PHC4 say it’s important in keeping healthcare costs down across Pennsylvania.
Some have criticized Rendell for using the Council as a political football by refusing to delink its reuthorization from his health insurance plan. Sen. Vance says that her bill will not be attached to any other measure.
