Reports the New Era:
Sen. Mike Brubaker is proposing to match up physicians and other medical professionals wanting to volunteer their services with the neediest cases across the state, a move he estimates would cost about $4 million.
…
Brubaker introduced his proposal in the Senate on Monday. It would spend $4 million to build a network of willing medical professionals and match them with needy patients.
…
Brubaker said his proposed network would work primarily to screen patients to make sure they are eligible for free care, and build an inventory of medical professionals volunteering to treat them. Patients would have to be 19 to 65 years old and have income of less than twice the federal poverty guidelines.
