Even though the state spending plan is due in five days, Rep. Garth Everett (R- Muncy) told the Williamsport Sun-Gazette yesterday that there still has been no action on the budget bill on the floor.

Last month, Everett and others asked Appropriations Chairman Rep. Dwight Evans (D-Philadelphia) to release the budget bill from his committee so it could be considered on the floor.  Evans insisted that nothing was being hidden and that the bill would be up for debate for the full House on June 23rd.  Rep. Everett says this hasn’t happened.

Rep. Matt Baker (R-Wellsboro) agrees.  ”I am very disappointed that the budget process has not moved in an expeditious manner, but the differences between the anticipated House Democrat budget and the Republican passed Senate budget plan are vastly different and leave much to be resolved in the best interest of all citizens in Pennsylvania,” he said.
