Even hospital administrators will admit their facilities don’t always offer the most convenient, fast and efficient care, medical consultant Craig Holm told members of the local medical community Thursday.
But if doctors and other providers team with hospitals, the groups can achieve those goals and supply more accessible, patient-centered care, added Mr. Holm, of Health Strategies & Solutions Inc. in Philadelphia.
The Scranton Temple-Residency Program hosted Mr. Holm, an expert in physician practice-hospital integration, at the Hilton Scranton Hotel & Conference Center to encourage the area’s medical community to unite.
The residency program is part of a group — including local hospitals, politicians, doctors and insurers — considering how to make Scranton one of the few U.S. communities with a formal care system for the under- and uninsured.
