The Department of Public Welfare has notified the Windsor Place personal care home that they would not be renewing the license for the facility, reports the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette .
The home, located in Ross, Pa, is one of the largest personal care homes in the Pittsburgh area with 119 beds. A series of inspections by the Deparment of Public Welfare resulted in a list of “repeated violations and current violations.”
According to the Post-Gazette article, Windsor Place is accused of “neglecting a resdient’s failure to eat and drink in March, so much that the person required hospitalization.” A staff member is also accused of pushing a resident in the shower causing a broken hip.
The state has banned new admissions to Windsor Place but the home is permitted to continue operating during an appeals period. No hearing date has been set for the appeal case.
