The Philadelphia Business Journal reports:

U.S. News and World Report has published its annual “best hospitals” report, and for the first time the magazine ranked medical centers in the country’s 52 largest metropolitan areas.

In the Philadelphia region — which covers Philadelphia, its suburbs, South Jersey and northern Delaware — the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania took the top ranking.
