The Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council’s latest report says that the financial performance of the state’s 170 general acute-care hospitals improved during the 2007 fiscal year (July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007).

However, concerns come with the performance of small, rural hospitals, which are still losing money, reports the Patriot-News, which also details the performance of Harrisburg-area hospitals.

For a report on how Berks County’s hospitals performed, check out the Reading Eagle.

To see how Bucks County fared, head over to the Bucks County Courier Times.

For the Lehigh Valley, see Allentown’s The Morning Call.

To check out a report on the Cambria & Somerset County area, read the article by the Tribune Democrat.

For western PA, see Pittsburgh’s Tribune-Review.

And for good measure, check out the Philadelphia Inquirer for an overall analysis of the report, and some details on Philadelphia-area hospitals.
