Since Medicare does not cover long-term home care, it is hard for elderly people to pay for this care and also hard for businesses to offer quality care and make a profit at the same time.

These problems haven’t stopped Mike Lawler, a nurse practitioner from Perry County, from opening 6 businesses that all help elderly people get the quality care they seek in their homes.

Reports The Patriot-News:

He began with an agency that supplies aides. A year later, he added a business that makes medical house calls.

Since then, he has added businesses that provide skilled nurses and therapists and other services.

He said he’s proof that it’s possible to keep customers healthy and happy, provide livable employee wages and benefits, and still operate in the black.
