The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review’s headline says it the best: “Plump Pennsylvania outweights national average.”

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently released a study that outlines obesity in America.  It reports that more than 1 in 4, or about 27.1 percent of adult Pennsylvanians are obese.

The national average is 25.6 percent, with Pennsylvania having the 18th-highest rating out of all the states.

Leaders of the pack are Tennessee, Mississippi and Alabama with adult obesity rates above 30 percent.
