The Department of Public Welfare (DPW) looks to cut the number of financial management organizations to as few as three by April. These financial management organizations help mostly disabled and elderly recipients by directing their benefits to a company. The company then helps manage their finances.
The DPW says there will be a seamless transition for those using these services. The plans for that transition, as well as the money that will be saved is not yet known.
