Reports the Bucks County Courier Times:
There he stood before an enthusiastic crowd at Arcadia University, the most powerful man on the planet, trying to squeeze an apple through the eye of a needle.
President Barack Obama on Monday made an aggressive pitch for his nearly $1 trillion health care reform legislation, a bill at which Republicans have turned up their noses like it was a week-old tuna sandwich found wedged between the seat cushions.
Obama delivered his message before a crowd of about 2,000 in the Kuch Recreation and Athletic Center. He said his health care bill needs to be passed in order to prevent health insurance companies from increasing premiums and dropping or denying coverage due to pre-existing medical conditions.
“They will keep doing this for as long as they can get away with it,” Obama said of insurance companies. “How much higher do premiums have to rise until we do something about it? How many more Americans have to lose their health insurance? How many more businesses have to drop coverage?”
As Obama spoke, a middle-aged man wearing a black tee-shirt sliced through the crowd. On the front of his shirt was a caricature of Obama tearing open his sport coat and button-down shirt, ala Superman, to reveal an “O” on his chest.
