The Times Herald reports:
Montgomery Hospital in Norristown is celebrating National Heart Month throughout the month of February with free activities for community members and hospital employees, including a free heart health screening day on Feb. 14.
“The idea behind celebrating National Heart Month is to honor those who are fighting this disease and bring awareness to those who may not realize they are at risk,” states Lynn Shookla, director for Interventional Services at Montgomery Hospital. “The sooner heart disease can be diagnosed the better it can be treated.”
Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death among men and women in the United States.
