Johnson & Johnson officials recently announced that the company had been subpoenaed by a federal grand jury in an investigation regarding its production techniques and manufacturing plants. The investigation is in response to a massive recall by subsidiary McNeil of many medicines, including Tylenol. A total of 40 medicines were recalled. McNeil has a plant in Ft. Washington, PA that has been involved in the investigation, and was closed after the recall with no plans to reopen until next year.
Johnson & Johnson states that is has been and will continue to work with the federal investigators.
