Since the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services doled out new ratings to each nursing home across the country, most reports from PA have revolved around counties which are unhappy with the rankings given to their nursing homes. Somerset County, however, is different. Reports the Daily American:
Six of the seven nursing homes in Somerset County were rated as average or better in a recent report by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
Meadowview Nursing Center of Berlin received the only below average ranking, receiving two of five stars. Somerset Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit received five of five stars, giving it a “much above-average” rating.
Golden Living Center in Meyersdale, Church of the Brethren Home in Windber and Laurel View Village in Davidsville all received four of five stars, which is above average. Receiving three of five stars or an average rating was Patriot Manor and Siemons’ Lakeview Manor Estate, both of Somerset.
