The financially troubled Bucktail Medical Center is getting help from its community.

Saint Vincent Health Center and Hamot Medical Center of Erie find themselves using interpreters more often to help patients.

Hamot Medical Center is also now using a novel “heated balloon” procedure to help patients with throat problems.

Moses Taylor Hospital has laid of 61 workers, and cut back use of 50 more employees.

So many patients are now using the Johnstown Free Medical Clinic that it’s become appointment-only.
