New name in Lehigh Valley Healthcare; Temple University Health System cost-effectiveness study has nurses’ union riled; Ground is broken for an assisted living community in Lehigh County.
Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network has a new name and tagline, reports the Morning Call: It will now be known as Lehigh Valley Health Network, and the tagline is: ”A passion for better medicine.”
Temple University Health System said yesterday that it was studying how it could make its Northeastern Hospital more “cost effective,” but a nurses’ union believes the system is planning to “virtually close” the community hospital, and it already has scheduled a protest, reports the Philadelphia Inquirer.
THe Williamsport Sun-Gazette reports that ground was broken Wednesday for the Wolf Run Village and Assisted Living Center, an 80-bed, $6 million facility to be built along Route 220 in Wolf Township in eastern Lycoming County. It’s anticipated the center will hire 20 full-time and 16 part-time workers
