The Scranton Times Tribune reports:

“More than 2 million senior citizens around the state are now eligible for free preventive health services – and more than 200,000 of them received a prescription drug rebate check – through health care reform legislation put in place over the past year.

In addition, health care reforms signed into law a year ago Wednesday have the potential to help almost 161,000 small-business owners in Pennsylvania, according to a study released Monday by Families USA.

By 2014, the Affordable Care Act will provide health insurance to more than 30 million uninsured Americans, about 1.2 million of whom live in Pennsylvania. Despite legal challenges to the bill, 43 of more than 90 provisions in the legislation have already taken effect.”
