The Towanda Review reports that Guthrie Health opened a new treatment center for diabetes and obesity in Bradford County. The $1.8 million Endocrine and Bariatric Center in Sayre will also tackle issues with the endocrine system and weigh management.

With the increase in obesity and diabetes as a result of obesity, Guthrie Health is anxious to address these issues for its patients.

The Center will also house Guthrie’s Bariatric Surgery Department with currently performs surgeries at Robert Packer Hospital as well as an array of staff members to assist in every aspect of care – clinical diabetes educators, a mental health specialist, an exercise physiologist, physicians and several dieticians.
