“The Pennsylvania Tourette Syndrome Alliance has been serving those with Tourette’s throughout the state for 26 years, but officials with the Gettysburg-based organization say it is in danger of closing.
In Gov. Tom Corbett’s proposed state budget, the line item for the alliance under the Department of Health has been completely cut.
The alliance receives $100,000 from the state, which is essential for them to continue to operate, said assistant administrator and consultant Sabrina Bosse.
‘We’re definitely one of those organizations that operates on a shoe-string budget,” Bosse said. “We do a lot with the little money we receive, but it means the world to us.’”
