Geisinger Medical System in Danville, PA, announced a research agreement with the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) based out of Phoenix, Arizona.

Their first research project will be to investigate the causes of obesity, diabetes and other metabolic conditions. With obesity rates on the rise, they will be looking into genetical issues that could be causing these disorders. It has long been presribed to eat better and exercise, but that may only be part of the problem. This research project is hoping to discover any underlying genetic factors.
