Lannet’s generic version of Rhentermine Hydrochloride, a drug produced by Sandoz, was approved for market by the FDA. The drug is a short-term accessory for weight reduction programs that may also include exercise, behavioral modification, and caloric restriction. Last year, the product generated $36.5 million in sales in the United States. Lannet anticipates the drug entering the market at the beginning of 2011.
