Reports the Patriot News:

A set of proposed regulations is drawing complaints from the [assisted living] industry and from a group that wants stronger protections for people living in assisted living facilities. The state Department of Public Welfare recently published the proposed regulations and is seeking input on them until Sept. 8.

The regulations would set licensing standards, require contracts detailing services and costs, and require facilities to report incidents such as suicide attempts, injuries requiring hospital care and thefts of residents’ money.”

The Pennsylvania Assisted Living Association is one of the organizations voicing their concern with the proposed regulations; saying they would place a financial burden on homes trying to help senior citizens, and prevent many seniors from receiving care.
