Researchers at Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia, as well as other top pediatric hospitals, have developed a technique that improves the survival rate from neuroblastoma through a process known as immunotherapy.
This is the first major advancement in over a decade for high-risk neuroblastoma patients, and it has increased “two-year survival without relapse to 66 percent from 46 percent.” Immunotherapy has become the standard of care for patients and has instilled optimism in both patients and their families.
