Reports the Patriot-News:

Capital BlueCross has called off a national search for a CEO, and instead given the job to its board chairman, William Lehr Jr.

Lehr, 68, will replace former CEO Anita Smith, who abruptly resigned last month for reasons the company and Smith have refused to disclose.

Along with two other board members, Lehr has been running Capital since Smith’s resignation.
