Reports Allentown’s The Morning Call:
“A compromise state budget apparently rescues $5 million in state funding for six hospital burn centers across Pennsylvania, including the regional burn center at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.
The money, left out of the $28.3 billion budget Gov. Ed Rendell proposed in February, was reinserted during weekend negotiations between his administration and legislative leaders.
According to House Republicans, the burn center money was a third of the $15 million restored for hospitals in the Department of Public Welfare’s budget.”
