With the Senate not in session this week and the House working on a budget there wasn’t too much movement this week.
The big news was that the House passed a bill (SB 189) to allow people 29 and under to stay on their parents health insurance under certain conditions. The parents that hold the policy would pay for the extra coverage. Since this legislation already passed the Senate in March, Governor Rendell has announced he will sign it when it gets to his desk.
SB 89, which would reauthorize PHC4 moved out of the Appropriations Committee in the House and and recieved second consideration. It has been set back on the House calendar for the day they return to session, on June 1.
Legislation that would amend the Insurance Company law (HB 746) is set for the House Insurance Committee meeting on June 1. Meanwhile, a resolution that would create a chronic pain task force has been set on the House calendar for the same day.
