Yesterday, the Senate unanimously approved legislation (SB 180) that would amend a current law allowing students called to active military duty to stay covered under their parents health insurance policy for as long as they are in school or on duty. The amendment added dental and vision insurance coverage to the law.
Therefore, students enrolled in the armed services, whose schooling was delayed by active duty, will no longer have a maximum age-limit to be covered under their parents health, dental or vision care. Having already passed through the House in March, the bill now heads to the Governor to be signed into law.
