From the Norristown Times Herald:

EAST NORRITON — Nearly four years after Albert Einstein Healthcare Network (AEHN) proposed building a new $360 million hospital at Wood’s Golf Center on Germantown Pike, the Philadelphia-based hospital has actually purchased the 82-acre parcel on Thursday morning.

The land purchase was finalized at the law office of the former golf center owner, Pen Wood, said Heather Newcomb, the AEHN spokesperson. The golf course was popularly called “Woody’s.” The purchase had been contingent on getting zoning and land development approvals that took nearly two years to complete.

“I do miss the people,” said Pen Wood earlier this month. Wood is the patriarch of the Wood family, who owned Woody’s since it was the “Wood Shed” in King of Prussia before moving to East Norriton.
