State officials continue to wrangle over how to keep the state-subsidized adultBasic health program going.
Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett has requested that the federal government grant a special expansion of the state’s popular temporary high-risk health insurance program as a stop-gap for some of the 42,000 working poor who soon will lose their state-subsidized health insurance.
But it remains unclear if the Obama administration has the power to grant the expansion, as health care advocates and more than a dozen state lawmakers continue pressuring the new Republican administration to keep the adultBasic program.
