Electroconvulsive therapy, or ECT, commonly referred to as shock therapy is a procedure that many people think is barbaric and only happens in the back rooms of locked mental wards. But is it inhumane or is it helpful? A local author is trying to break the stigma of depression and de-mystify shock therapy.
