The Governor has just announced that after watching the first (disastrous, we’d like to add) hour of the budget conference committee meeting, that if they DON’T make much progress over this week, on Monday he will send a letter to House leaders asking them to send SB 850 to his desk. He then plans to blue line out everything that is not essestial for government operations, leaving only approximately 75 line items.
He says that if he sees no significant progress, he would ask the House for the bill on Monday. He also added that this would not be a stopgap bill, but a bridge bill– He still expects to receive HB 1416.
He’s also working on a plan to take get paychecks out to state employees in about 5 days.
