On Tuesday, Paoli Hospital officially opened the new high-tech pavilion. With a price tag of over 140 million, the new hospital is equipped with the latest medical technology and almost quadruple the size of the previous building.
The Daily Local News Reports:
Ambulances sirens blasting in the background, nurses tending to patients in exam rooms, doctors ordering test and EMTs shouting out vitals.
Just another day in the emergency department at Paoli Hospital?
Not really.
At 5 Tuesday morning, Paoli’s brand new ER was in business, the first department in the hospital’s state-of-the-art pavilion to open its doors to the public.
“It’s a $145 million big deal,” said Dr. Steven Gamburg, chief of emergency medicine at Paoli Hospital, about the cost of the new 259,000-square-foot pavilion.
The hospital held a “gauze cutting” at 6 a.m. to make opening day official.
