When discussing healthcare, common themes emerge: cost and access to treatments are huge problems in our state and in the nation as a whole.

Today, the problem of access to care/treatments is the single largest issue facing healthcare – primarily because the percentage of people without insurance is rising, many more families are underinsured, treatments are often unavailable to patients, and chronic conditions are on the rise.

Policy development, community education and awareness efforts are necessary to systemically address issues related to access.
